This community is for school counselors, postsecondary and workforce “counselors” and learning options administrators who actively support K–12 students. Our intent is to have three to four regularly scheduled (community of practice) meetings each year that support “counselor” leadership and professional growth initiatives and provides opportunities of communication and collaboration. This community also acts as an advisory group for SCSC and SOCRATES learning options initiatives including SOCRATES Online.

SCSC is hosting a Community of Practice (CoP) for facility directors and district health and safety responsible persons.

This group will meet periodically and will serve to provide a focus on long-term facility maintenance quality assurance. Forum will provide opportunities for self-assessment and peer review, for keeping up-to-date on issues and legislative/regulatory changes, and to share leadership among and between districts. Participation may also serve to document hours required by staff working towards MASMS Facility Manager certification.

Our group will exchange management tips and techniques for optimal management of your facility. We will set a schedule for future meetings and topics that will be covered.  Agenda topics may include some of the following (based on the interest of participants):

  • ADA self check and compliance
  • Long-term facility management LTFM-implementation
  • OSHA compliance visit results
  • Health and safety monthly planner tool development
  • Construction management, staff efficiencies, solar gardens and more
