First Days of School - New Teacher Induction Workshop

School leaders who support new teacher onboarding and induction are welcome to bring their new educators and attend this workshop as a team. The workshop is designed to help new teachers prepare for the first weeks of school and to make connections to other educators that can provide support as they start the coming year as a new educator or new to their district.

Primary Outcomes of the Day Include:

• New educators will determine classroom routines, procedures, intentional use of classroom space, and a plan for positive reinforcement.
• New educators will plan strategies for building relationships with students.
• New educators will begin planning for various opportunities to communicate with caregivers, specifically entrance conferences, while considering home language and cultural communication preferences.
• Additional Goals for the Day Include:
  
  • Establishing a sense of belonging within your district and among colleagues from other districts.
  • Experiencing high leverage strategies that can be applied to working with students.
