Summer Literacy Event

News

Keep students reading, writing, and creating all summer long. The Summer Literacy Event engages K–8 students in fun, meaningful literacy experiences that build skills and confidence beyond the school year.

Each year features a unique theme or focus, offering fresh and creative ways for students to explore literacy. Past programs have included experiences like Lyric Lab and Sunsational Summer Reads, giving students opportunities to connect with reading and writing in different and exciting ways.

While activities vary from year to year, students can expect opportunities to read independently, reflect on what they’ve read, and express their ideas through writing and creative projects. The program is designed to support literacy development while encouraging curiosity, imagination, and self-expression.

Many events conclude with a celebration where students can share their work and enjoy activities such as games, crafts, snacks, and prizes—bringing the joy of reading and creativity to life.
