SCSC supports districts, leaders, and educator teams in the implementation of new academic standards. This work is designed to build a shared understanding of the standards and support the alignment of instruction, assessment, and instructional resources.

Through a collaborative process, SCSC partners with district leaders and teacher teams to move from understanding the standards to implementing them effectively in classrooms.

Our Approach

SCSC’s standards implementation process is grounded in collaboration, clarity, and practical application. Support is designed to help educators understand the shifts within new standards and translate those shifts into instructional practice.

This work can be completed through a team-based design process, allowing educators and leaders to build shared understanding and design district level implemntation plans. Supported is then offered at the classroom level to ensure implementation work is sustained in practice.

• Exploring the shifts from previous standards to new standards
• Unpacking the language and depth of knowledge within the standards
• Aligning standards to instruction and curricular resources
• K–12 vertical alignment of standards and expectations
• Designing Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 instruction and assessments
• Supporting district leaders in guiding implementation efforts
• Facilitating team-based planning and collaboration
• Classroom or PLC implemntation coaching

Implementation in Practice

All standards implementation work is designed collaboratively and applied directly in classrooms. SCSC supports teams in moving from planning to practice, ensuring that standards-aligned instruction is implemented in a meaningful and sustainable way.

Instructional coaching can be incorporated to further support classroom implementation and ongoing refinement of instructional practices.
