About SCSC

Based in North Mankato, Minnesota, South Central Service Cooperative (SCSC) facilitates programs and services for school districts and local governments across south central Minnesota. SCSC is one of nine regional agencies called service cooperatives, established in 1976 by Minnesota Statute to enhance the work of their members.

SCSC may be viewed as a service extension of both the participating members and the representative state agencies. Financial support is derived from facilitation of programs and services and from membership dues. While SCSC's primary service area is the nine-county region, many programs have statewide, national, and international outreach.

BENEFITS THROUGH COOPERATION

SCSC believes services are most efficient and cost effective when implemented at a regional level rather than a “one size fits all approach.” Facilitating services regionally creates economies of scale and maintains a consistency in the process that positively affects local governments and school districts.
