Superintendent Orientation
Nicollet Superintendent Dennis Morrow and GHEC Superintendent, Doug Storbeck participated in an orientation tour of SCSC, MSBA and Region V Finance on July 23. Harold Remme indicated the purpose of the orientation tour was to help these new superintendents become familiar with where each service provider is located and to meet many of the support staff in each organization. Each organization introduced the new superintendents to the staff and discussed services their respective organizations provide school districts.

Welcome JWP Superintendent Kurt Stumpf
On Aug. 22, Harold Remme, SCSC Advisory Services, met with new JWP Superintendent Stumpf at his district office. Remme explained the many services provided by SCSC and welcomed Superintendent Stumpf to the area. During the visit, regionally shared service programs including special needs, capital improvement planning, and internal and external communication supports were discussed. In addition, 18 online learning and employee insurance options, the wellness programs, cooperative purchasing and networking services were reviewed.

Strategic Planning Refresh
MSBA and SCSC cooperate to provide strategic planning services to SCSC member school districts.  Blue Earth Area Schools requested that a “refresh” session of their 2016 Strategic Plan be conducted due to a new superintendent, principal and several school board members. As a result of the “refresh” activity, the school district updated the plan focus areas and target activity dates. A revised plan-on-a-page will be created to provide direction for the goals and objectives of the strategic plan.
