Math Mania Tournament
South Central Service Cooperative is proud to host the Math Mania Tournament—a chance for area students in grades 6–8 to demonstrate their skills in mathematics. This opportunity is possible at SCSC through a partnership with Mankato Area Community Education and Math Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS).
Teams of five students will participate in individual, team and playoff rounds of competition surrounding mathematical thinking and problem solving. Coaches are provided sample problems in advance of the competition and solutions for reviewing with teams afterward. Team and individual awards will be presented at a ceremony following the competition.
Schools or other youth groups are invited to form teams, or students can register individually and will be placed on teams for the competition. We look forward to seeing all our "math maniacs!"
The competition begins at 9 a.m. and awards will be completed by 12 p.m.
Cost:
$85 team registration ($55 for additional teams from the same school)
or
$18 individual registration.
Cost includes practice materials from past tournaments, registration fees and awards.
