The American Association on Mental Retardation (AAMR)

Oldest and largest interdisciplinary organization of professional and others concerned about mental retardation (MR) and related disabilities.  Promotes development and dissemination of progressive policies, sound research, and universal human rights for people with intellectual disabilities.  Publishes three periodicals.  Website provides information on MR, a discussion group, and a bookstore.
