The 2nd annual South Central Minnesota Work Skills Competition entitled “Gearing Up for Your Future” was held May 19, 2005 at South Central College (formerly SCTC). The competition presented an opportunity for 100 11th-12th grade students to showcase their job seeking and work awareness skills in the categories of Application Writing, Interviewing, Problem Solving, and General Knowledge.
High school students from Mankato East and West, Blue Earth Area, JWP, St. Peter, St. Clair, River Bend Day Treatment, Cleveland, Fairmont, Sibley East, and Sleepy Eye competed in all four categories. Medals for first, second & third place were awarded. After an awards ceremony, students were entertained by juggler and magician, Peter Bloedel.
