Letter from the Executive Director I would like to thank the Freshwater Society for making the Water is Life art competition and scholarships available to school districts in the South Central Service Cooperative area. We were pleased to be included in your pilot year program and compliment you on the gala event at the Gray Freshwater Center. The “Water is Life” theme helps to add relevance to the environmental issues that surround today’s youth and will impact their future. Preservation or abuse of natural resources expressed through artistic mediums helps to draw attention to the many ways natural resources affect our lives, and affirms the importance of conservation. On June 21st SCSC will host its annual Administrator & Governing Board Seminar at the North Links Golf Course. Business, industry, education, and legislative presenters will discuss Violence Prevention & Crisis Management Planning and GASB 43 & 45 Pre-funding, provide updates and comments from the Minnesota Department of Education, and will present legislative, legal, and insurance updates. We hope to see you for an informative morning on the 21st. SCSC has several exciting new programs and services to present this fall. Have a great summer! Les Martisko, Ph.D. |
