South Central ELL Coordinators Workshop Scheduled for October 29

South Central Fall ELL Coordinators Workshop is Oct. 29 - register at www.mnscsc.org, click on “events.” The registration deadline is Oct. 22. This MDE workshop is hosted by South Central Service Cooperative at our conference center in North Mankato.

The target audience is district ELL coordinators, administrators and coordinators with responsibility for ELL staff and programs, lead ELL teachers or TOSAs, bilingual and ESL program teachers. This workshop is designed for ELL coordinators or district leaders working with programs that serve English language learners. Whether you are a new coordinator or have worn this hat previously but not sure if you are heading down the right path, this meeting will help you to build your background knowledge in the process of serving ELLs.

Topics will include updates in ELL, immigrant and refugee programming, Title III of NCLB, K-12 English language proficiency standards, and more! Join us to discuss the issues, network with colleagues and share important ELL programming information for the 2009 -2010 school year.

Time: 8:30 a.m. check-in, 9 a.m. start
Cost: $50 – Registration is required. The fee includes training materials, morning refreshments and lunch.
