Frameworks for Minnesota Mathematics and Science Standards
Do you need help turning standards into instruction and learning? This workshop will look at the development, organization and use of online resources created by Minnesota teachers to provide support for standards-based instruction. The newly released Frameworks are organized by Minnesota standards and include: explanations of the benchmarks, resources and links, assessment items, and vignettes of classroom instruction.  Other sections include: best practices, correlations to other standards, connections to other content areas, and resources for PLCs, administrators, and parents. Participants will learn how to access and use the Frameworks for planning instruction, developing curriculum, writing assessments, and facilitating professional development. There will be an opportunity to share ideas for putting the Frameworks into use for your district or school. For a preview of the Frameworks, go towww.scimathmn.org/stemtc

MCA Update
With a new assessment vendor and a new science test, many changes are in store. The current developments will be discussed and questions answered.

2011 English Language Arts Standards

The 2011 Minnesota English Language Arts standards include literacy standards in history/social studies, science and technical subjects. The session will provide background for the standards and strategies for implementing them.
